Chainmaking

In this short course, students will learn the fundamentals of making different types of chains from melting raw materials into ingots, drawing and forming wires into links, and soldering the links to create bracelets as well as different types of clasps.

This course is the perfect chance to master pick soldering, unsoldering, and resoldering. 

PROJECTS:

Level 1 - Cable chain, rolo chain, bar chain, barbed wire chain, fused chain or spikey chain

Level 2 - Spiga chain

Level 3 - Curb chain

TOPICS & TECHNIQUES:

1 - Melting raw brass or silver to make ingots

2 - Making brass solder

3 - Making wires according to your chosen chain type

4 - Forming jump rings and different types of links

5 - Pick soldering (Includes unsoldering and resoldering for stuck links)

6 - Making claspa (hook clasp, s-clasp or toggle lock)


DURATION:

8 full day sessions, 6 hours per session

REGISTRATION FEE:

PhP24,000.00 or PhP3,000.00 per session
